Netcare 911
On 26 August 2025, a Netcare 911 ambulance was dispatched after GEMS contacted them directly( through the GEMS EMS). I was, and still am, a registered dependent on the medical aid and have been covered since 2021.
Despite this, I later received an email from Netcare stating that I personally owed R5,077.45. When I contacted them, I was repeatedly told that no medical aid details were provided, even though the medical aid was provided on the day of the incident and the call was initiated by GEMS. I was advised that the matter was under investigation.
Weeks later, instead of the issue being resolved, I began receiving payment demands and threats of listing with TransUnion from their debt collectors.
I made several attempts to have this error corrected, but my complaints went unanswered. I am a student and unemployed, and it is extremely distressing to be threatened with blacklisting due to incorrect billing and poor communication.
