Neglegent Doctor

On the 2nd of December 2014, I was taken to Sunninghill Hospital to get stitches after cutting open the top of my foot. I advised the doctor that my tendon was sore & every time I moved my foot there was a pain up my leg. I was assured that the cut was too far from the tendon & I couldn't have done any damage to it. 6 weeks later I decided to see a physio as I was still in pain & a bump had developed on my ankle. I was sent for a sonar which showed 2 foreign bodies in my foot, they assumed it was porcelain from the mug. I was booked for an op on the 25th of February 2015 to have the glass removed. When the surgeon cut me open there was no porcelain but instead my tendon had been completely severed & it was the scar tissue holding it in place, that showed up in the scan. If the emergency room doctor had listened to me & done his job correctly I would have had the tendon reattached there & then & would have recovered during the school holidays, however, I have had to take two week off work & will be going to work with a moon boot on for a further 4 weeks. I am looking at taking this further as I have incurred many costs as a result of this
