N1 City Hospital Formal Complaint Regarding Distressing Incident in Emergency Trauma Unit

I am writing to formally raise a serious concern regarding an incident that occurred during my recent visit to the emergency unit @N1 City Hospital Goodwood, Louwtjie Rothman Drive.

On June 9, 2025, I was subjected to a deeply humiliating and distressing experience involving a nurse who was wearing full navy blue clothing and identified herself as "Avu." This took place in the emergency section where I was being checked out.

I asked the nurse to take me to the toilet, but she responded with an uncooperative and dismissive attitude. When she eventually did assist me, she pushed me into the toilet in a wheelchair. My boots literally pushed the toilet door open as she forced the wheelchair forward, and I told her she should stop because it was hurting me. Despite my repeated objections and clear communication that the situation was not safe or practical, she continued to force me into the confined space. When I insisted that she stop and take me out, she abruptly left me halfway in the toilet, still in the wheelchair, and walked away—leaving me alone for several minutes in an extremely uncomfortable and undignified position.

This experience was not only physically unsafe but emotionally degrading. I have never in my life felt so disrespected and dehumanized. Patients deserve to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect—none of which I received in this instance.

I urge you to investigate this matter urgently and provide a formal response detailing the actions that will be taken to address this unacceptable behavior.
