Misinformed and mislead about payment due

On the 8th of October I went for a scan. The receptionist said that they would get approval/authorization from my medical aid. I then went in for the scan. I came out and waited for my report. When I asked if my report is ready I also asked if there is anything out standing, the recptionist informed me no nothing. The lady then gave me my report and I again asked if there is any payment due and the lady confirmed no - it is all covered by the medical aid.

On the 17th of October I received a statement informing me that I had to pay an outstanding amount. I phoned EastRad, I explained what happened and the lady in the accounts department said that she will be to the HOD who was on leave and then give me feedback. On Monday 21 October I phoned again and the lady in the accounts department informed me that they were able to determine who the recpetionist was that gave me the information and that they had two weeks of training and that she did not follow procedure. She also said that they do not get authorization from medical aids but she saw that they did get a Virtual Quote approval from my medical aid showing that there was a short fall on the 8th of October. This means that the information was available to the receptionist as EastRad on the 8th when I asked and I was still mis-informed. This information was shared with me on Monday morning by the lady that works in the accounts department of EastRad. Late Monday afternoon the HOD responded via e-mail stating that they did an investigation and now not one of the receptionist remembers sharing this information. I feel misinformed and mislead in this situation and now all of a sudden the story has changed?
