Mis-diagnosis

On Sunday 31st May 2015 I brought my son to your Emergency Room cause he had a rash all over his body and I thought it could have been an allergy to medication I had given him for Croup that he had a week prior.

The doctor I saw said it wasn't an allergy and that it was nothing serious or contagious and that he could go to school on Monday. She prescribed Aspelone, pulmicort and SBR cream and we left. We went to my brother's house any my son played with his 3 cousins!

I took my son to our GP yesterday as the rash did not improve and I was still concerned, he diagnosed him with German Measles which is highly contagious!!!

I understand that people make mistakes but doctors working in an ER should not make these kind of mistakes and the fact that you are going to charge my medical aid for wasting my time.

I have been informed that the Emergency Department Doctors are not employed by Netcare however this is a direct reflection on your hospital. Who wants to go to a hospital where ER staff make errors?
