Milpark Hospital’s Deplorable Service

The administration at Netcare Milpark Hospital is pathetic. My elderly mother was instructed to arrive at 10:00 a.m. to be admitted into hospital. Instead, she had to wait for close to five hours for a bed to become available. Not to mention that she hadn’t eaten in hours as per the doctor’s instructions. The reception staff were pretty useless as none of our questions could be answered. They simply didn’t know when beds would become available, or what was causing the delay. And, as if that wasn’t bad enough, they seemed pretty peeved at ME for asking! The customer service line proved to be equally useless - the lady on the line told me that they didn’t have any beds available before adding, quite haughtily, that I had no idea how hospitals operate. I asked if that meant that my mother would have to wait indefinitely, and SHE.ACTUALLY.SAID.YES!!! My mother would have to wait indefinitely. It’s deplorable.
