Medical expence

On 14 november 2019 i had an operation on my left leg i had a thorn achillus tendon. On the 28November 2019 the cast was removed. On the 30th November 2019 i started feeling very bad had vomiting,severe swetting and my bloodpressure was very high. I went to Vaalpark netcare hospital and after a while blood samples was taken and i was informed that i had a pulmanary embolism. The Dr on duty then informed me that he can not handle my situation and they have to transfer me to Netcare Union Hospital. I informed the staff that they are not contracted with my medical aid polmed and that there will be payments i will have to make. The staff then called union Hospital and gave me feedback that there will be no co-payments due to the fact that i am a priority one patient and they have to assist me. I asked the Dr at Vaalpark hospital why cant i go to Eumfuleni Medi clinic because it was one of the hospitals that is contracted with my medical aid. The Dr made a report to me that there is no Specialists available in the vaal and that there is only dockters that can assist me at Union Hospital. And according to the Dr on duty i had to be transfered due tobthe severity of my situation. I was then transferred via Ambulance. On the 7th december 2019 i was discharged at Union hospital after being in highcare and normal ward. On the 1st of February 2020 ibreceived a email of a payment i must make and the amount was R10600. I spoke to both my medical aid and the Union Hospital regarding the payment and was told i have to pay the amount. It was not my choice to be hospitalized at this hospital and i could not refuse hospital treatment due to the severity of the case if i did the bloodcloth could go to my heart causing death or to my brain causing death or a stroke. I really do not know what to do in this regard and i also can not afford it because i am also under dept counselling because i cant pay dept. Please help me in this regard.
