Linmed Benoni a disaster waiting to happen or has it happened, before!!!

Both my husband and my son were admitted to the Linmed Hospital in Benoni two weeks apart from each other.

My husbands stay was pleasant unfortunately what the nursing staff and sister tried to accomplish was undermined by junior members of staff.

The two male nurses in the Medical Ward was crass and unpleasant. The taller of the two was rude and did not have a good bedside manner.

I have photos of the state of the furniture in the shared room and of course, this is no fault of the nursing staff. The hospital management is busy with renovations of the floors, they should look at the ceilings in the wards as well as the furniture - if you go into the hospital for a medical problem you might end up being stitched up for far worse if you had to cut your hand in the metal drawer that houses your personal items.

I also witnessed nursing staff that stood around doing absolutely nothing during visiting hours instead of neatening beds etc. and seeing to patients that needed help. There as an elderly gentleman that needed assistance to the bathroom and his call button went on fro over 5 minutes and eventually, the sister that was attending to my son's discharge had to ask somebody to assist the patient. eventually when the nurse did attend the gentleman was so upset that he shouted that he had to go to the toilet and she screamed right back at him.

Is this what private care has come down to. It is indeed sad that although Linmed has in-house training facilities that only a few nurses adhere to the code of ethics and care and others just don't care!!!!
