Lack of care for stroke patient.

On the 8th July, my father was admitted to the Sunward Park Hospital with a stroke. He spent a total of 9 days in the hospital. Whilst in High Care he seemed well looked after. However, we arrived the day before he left to find out he had been transferred to the general ward.<br> <br> I found him in a private room with the door closed. The room was icy cold and he was shivering, only covered by the sheet and thin top blanket. I requested blankets from the nurse who also turned on the aircon to warm up the room. Although he was a high risk patient for falling, the side of his bed had been left down and he was completely unattended.<br> <br> We tried to move him to the rehab clinic that afternoon, they said they could not process the paperwork. They promised he would be transferred at 8 am the next morning.<br> <br> He finally arrived at the rehab clinic at 14.45 the next day. Upon examination (I was there) his bladder was so severely swollen, it looked like a rugby ball, and he has had ongoing infections ever since. I have no idea when, or even if, his bladder was last checked at the Sunward and no-one could tell my mom either when she asked.<br> <br> I really expected better care from a private hospital
