Kokstad Private Hospital - What a shame!

I was recently involved in a car accident, and was taken to Kokstad Private for medical attention. The attending doctor basically told me to get up off the bed and walk. When he could see that i was able to walk, he told me to go home. When he was doing his observation, i told him that I'd hit my head and my neck was painful. I even had a cut on my neck because of the safety belt, but it was never even treated. It's not like i was at the hospital for free, i am paying for medical aid, but the lack of medical attention is something that still baffles me even today.

When i asked for a medical certificate from the doctor, he dismissed me and told me to go to work the following day. What really bothered me about this whole situation is that, i was involved in a car accident, had hit my head, had a cut on my neck, but when a white man with a dislocated shoulder walked into the hospital, the doctor immediately stopped what he was doing to me and when to attend to him.

I'm not saying people should boycott the hospital, but all I'm saying is, i for one have learnt my lesson and will never ever set foot at Kokstad Private again. I had to go as far as Durban to get help and when i told the doctor what had happened, he was shocked. Only to find out, the cut on my neck had now gotten infected and i couldn't turn my head, and when laying down, i can't get up on my own. Thanks nothing Kokstad Private. Its such a pity you still went ahead a claimed from my medical aid, for nothing.
