International medical aid

My Dad had to be admitted at Unitas due to an emergency. He is on an international medical aid. And because this medical aid is not in the system they cannot claim via the medical aid and I have to dish out Zar 49,000 out of my pocket. This is pure inefficiency. What is the point of an international insurance/medical aid if your system cannot deal with it? This is just pure nonsense. Their system cannot deal with something that is so basic!
