INHUMAN SERVICE

Good Morning
My son was admitted at the said above facility Saturday suffering from suspected Malaria. His ward was Wilgeheuwel Bed 1E.

My complaint is on the night of admission Sunday 19th February 2017 morning 03:04hrs i got a message from my son indicating that his drip has moved out of position. He rang the bell and a nurse came to his bed and refused to put the drip in position and just went away.At 03:11 received a message from him again imploring me to call the hospital for them to put back the drip as he was getting weak.I told him to ring the bell and he advised me that he has been stopped from ringing it again.I had no option but to drive to the hospital at around 03:41hrs to find out what was happening. The drip was finally put in place at 04:00hrs.

Come Monday in the evening 18th February 2017 when the night shift came one of your staff members went to my son and asked him "DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE NIGHT SHIFT STOP RINGING THE BELL TODAY YOU DISTURB OTHERS." I phoned and asked the sister in charge to find out what was happening , i did not want to argue with her so i accepted that my son was to blame. Why i did so was to protect my son as i was far away from him and at that point was vulnerable.

Tuesday morning i had to go and see him then suddenly he said just take me out of this hospital i do not feel safe. The manager on duty really tried to assist as the kid has already made up his mind , we had no option but to sign him out although he was in pain and the doctor had tried his best and had planned another test. In the afternoon we had to sign our kid out against our wishes and the Doctors.

This problem usually manifested on the night shift , day shift that group was wonderful, full of joy ,passionate about their work, going the extra mile.

I would like to compliment two shining stars amongst your group who tried to make the situation better Sister Manini Mabele and Ruth Maleleka number ********** who would go out of their way to assist.MAY GOD BLESS THESE TWO ANGELS.

So the money used on the stay of my son went down the drain as we could not finish his medication because of professional rude people.I will have to find medication and further tests for him from another institution which is going to cost me more.

I think Netcare can do better as money nowadays is something which is not easy to come by and you have to bear with people in this situation the financial burden they face.

Not Satisfied Client
