Infants Health At Risk At Femina Paediatric Award

The nurses at the paediatric ward didn't notice that the IV line inserted in my 2 month old baby had caused IV infiltration. I had to tell them about my baby's swollen feet. Thereafter the only thing that they did was to put the IV line in the other feet. I had to ask them how are they planning to treat this since it could cause muscle, tissue damage and cause blood to clot. Mind you, my family including myself have a history of DIT. After I had enquired, that when they used a warm cloth on the affected area. They did this once!! I had to elevate my baby keg and ensure the swollen gets better. Now less than 24 hrs, the IV line went AGAIN into the tissue and still they have done nothing knowing very well how critical infant care is!!! Totally irresponsible and neglegence!!!
