incompetence at Christiaan Barnard Hospital

Sunday, 06Jan2019 at11h30. Arrived at Christiaan Barnard Netcare Hospital Emergency. We were told to sit down and wait as there were other patients before us. No name or details asked. No, "What's the medical emergency" I could've been having a heart attack for all she knew.

Approximately 30 minutes later a Nurse arrived in reception to, what we expected, attend to my son. What a surprise that all she did was take his blood pressure, no temperature even though he complained of a fever. She casually asked whether he knew his weight & height. When he said no she didn't measure either. He was sent back to wait in Reception. Still no details taken.

Whilst we were waiting a family arrived where the older gentleman was clearly not well. They were simply told to take a seat. It was only when one of the party alerted the staff to the fact that they suspect the gentleman was having a stroke that they were attended to BUT only after the nurse had finished with taking the vitals of another patient. When we were eventually called we were told that the consultation would not be covered by Discovery Key Care. Now, could the time wasted not have been avoided had the info been asked for at the outset? I have had witnessed better service, customer care and bedside manner at Public Hospitals.
