Incompetant - yet standard practice

I am writing to formally express my deep frustration and concern regarding my father's repeated hospitalizations at Netcare Kingsway over the past two months. He has been admitted three times, and each experience has raised serious questions about the standard of care he has received.

During his first admission to the ICU, it took over 24 hours to source B-negative blood. While I understand this is a rare blood type, such a delay seems excessive. When he was transferred to the general ward, nurses repeatedly ignored his calls for assistance. I personally reported that his drip was causing pain and bleeding, but I was told to wait for the night staff. The drip was eventually removed at 6 PM, yet by the time I left at 9 PM, it had not been replaced, nor had he received any pain medication that we requested at 5 PM. Shockingly, he was later discharged with a needle still in his port.

His second admission was similarly concerning, with another delay of over 16 hours to secure blood.

During his third admission, it once again took over 24 hours to obtain platelets, which resulted in his bone marrow biopsy being postponed by an entire day. Additionally, we were informed that fluid needed to be drained from his lungs and that this procedure would be done on the same day to minimize risks, given that he had received platelets. However, at 2 PM, we were suddenly told that there was no one available in the hospital to perform the procedure.

Is this level of delay and mismanagement considered standard practice at Netcare hospitals? I am struggling to understand why these issues keep occurring, and I need urgent clarification on what is being done to prevent them from happening again.
