Garden city mint

We recently rushed into the net are garden city hospital with my little boy. As non medical people we felt we should leave our child in full trust of the trained medical staff. On arriving, it was a bit strange that I had to go and search for someone to assist me. I was directed to a small office where there were some nurses and a young nurse who had to be told to assist us. She pulled her face as if I had disturbed her tea break.

We waited a while for a doctor to see to us. However, there was a young male nurse that was very polite and tried to get people to see to us and keep us calm

The doctor eventually came in and recommended that my son undergoes a cat scan and a 'c-spun' Trusting the medical professionals on site we agreed to it all.

The results were realesed approximately 40 minutes later even though we were told that it would take no more than 15 minutes.

Once the results arrived we had to wait for what felt like an eon for someone to explain to us what the results of the 2 scans were.

The doctor had notified the nurse that my son is fine and that he could be discharged.

We inquired if we were to bath him as normal (my son had blood dripping from his ear). The doctor said that it is fine to bath him as normal as water will not affect him.

He advised that it would be better to see an ENT specialist.

I would like to know why a qualified Dr at a pvt medical center did not know that my son HAD TO SEE AN ENT SPECIALIST and that nothing was to enter his ear at all. Why did garden city hospital not have an ent on call?

Why after charging us almost R20k it is near impossible to expect a decent level of service that would include some humanity instead of a business designed to drain the man on the street??!!

After getting a 2nd opinion, I was informed that the 'c-spun' scan was totally unnecessary as my son showed no signs of paralysis or hindered movement. More so since ct scan covered an area beyond his area of injury.
