EXTREMELY BAD SERVICE Unitas Hospital

This is a very bad private hospital in South Africa. The only thing they want it money, their service is very bad. I took my son the on the 19 March till he was discharged by force on the 28 of March 2023. I took him there because he had sezuires more than 3 times at home, he has fever and vomiting as well. The doctor decided to admit him around past 9 in the evening since we were there from 4:30pm. I was advised by one of the nurse to come to hospital in the morning around 8 as the doctor's will be coming to see him around that time. I was told that he wiil be seen by the physician and the neorologist. I was there around 8am and while I was patiently waiting for the doctors to come i was in the ward the my son who was having sezuire non stop, no doctor come to see him until 5pm. When I ask the nurse what time will the doctors coming to see my Child, I was just told that he is on his way. Mind you between those times the child was having sezuire non stop and they were telling me that they are waiting for the doctor. The physician came around 5pm and he just instructed the nurse to move him to medical ward 1B, He continued having sezuires non stop until around 10pm I asked the nurse in charge for that night shift to give him sleeping tablets, as he was just feeting all the way since morning and was not evening falling asleep. I decided to go home around 11pm, in the morning at 6:10 they called me that they took him to High Care, went there at 11:15(visiting hours) to see him... Ok he was there since Tuesday 21 March until Sunday 26. During that period he was in High care everything was not going w ell my child was more sick, and worse part when the nurse try to call the doctor about his condition the doctor was very hangup the call to the nurse, my son was just laying in bed in bed without a drip, without oral medication and he was just in pains. Until we told the nurse that we are going to the pharmacy to buy him pain medication is when they started to give him oral medication. Alot has happened during his admission in High care the service was very poor. Sunday the 26 he was transferred back to 1B, He complain about chest pain since 23 Thursday March and the throat being painful. Since 23 March my son was not eat all all or drink water because when he try to eat or drink he was feeling a lot of pain. I told the nurse about it, as most of the time I will be the one trying to feet him, on the 28 March at 4:15 the doctor came and discharged him, while my son was extremely not well compare to the day he was admitted. When we ask the doctor that how can he discharge him on his condition, he just said he will get better as home because he doesn't want him to get infections from hospital or else we should take him to the hospital that he use to go. Remember he was unable to eat even soft food, he was feeling pain on the chest which I he was discharged without me knowing exactly what's the cause of the pain. The doctor force to discharge him with his condition. He was very weak to a point that he can't even walk by himself, I got the wheelchair I went to the pharmacy and asked the pharmacist to give him medication something to drink at home. When I explained to the staff that were in the pharmacy that my son is being discharged they were very shocked, as they were seeing him in the wheelchair, and in the prescription it was his normal medication for epilepsy and pills for ulcer. When we got home I realize that his left hand is not functioning and I was not aware of it when they discharged him. I nearly lost my son at Unitas Hospital. Now is more than 10 days being discharged no improvement. They claimed money from medical aid but the service was very poor, My son is worse compare to the time I took him to that hospital. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THAT HOSPITAL, or recommend it to anyone on this earth.
