Dr Tshidibi Linmed

Elderly patient with bad hip fracture was taken to NetCare Linmed. The staff and doctors in casualties were spectacular.

The nightmare started when the patient was assigned to Dr Tshidibi after being examined at casualties. Patient was admitted on Friday evening at 20:23. After multiple attempts to get info from hospital staff regarding when Dr will be doing rounds or when he can attend to the patient it was decided to transfer patient to another hospital.

During this process it was discovered that this Dr had lost his phone (he was on call at another hospital where he could also not be reached). After making waves he was ordered by the matron on staff to come in. He very rudely insisted that as it is an elderly patient it was not considered an emergency and that perhaps he would only deem it necessary to see the patient on the following Friday.

Any attempt to get info out of the Dr resulting in him losing his temper and yelling in a room full of elderly patients who were trying to sleep (after 9 pm).

Upon further investigation it became clear that Dr Tshidibi has a track record of not visiting his patients, being extremely rude when asked any questions about a patients care. He was adamant that he was only legally required to see her 24h after her admission, however, there are multiple instances publicly known where this Dr has waites up until 4 days prior to aeeing his patients, or even operating on patients without ever have seen them in person.

Futhermore, he refused to refer her to a Dr at another hospital as "It is taking business away from his place of work" and "he refuses any liability". He pressured the family into signing a Hospital Refusal of Treatment as he would under no circumstances refer the patient. He made it clear that he did not accept any responsibility (not that he was taking any when she was under his "care" in any event.

It has become apparent he is medically negligent as well as extremely unprofessional.

The nurses in the ward were however very good at caring for the patient and only gave their best. They made her stay there pleasant.
