Dr Paye Union hospital
My gran mother was admitted for a broken hip. She has late stage liver syroscis which we are aware of. During her stay at the hospital, the family received now feedback on her condition. When Dr Paye was asked to meet with us as she was never present during visiting hours. And high care has strict visiting hours. The nurses were in able to give us any information. When asked for Dr Paye’s Number in order for us to call her we were informed that she does not allow this. We left a message for the Dr to call us when she is on her round to give us feedback. She blatantly ignored this message. After 3 days of no information we insisted that the head nurse call the Dr to come to my grandmothers bed during her rounds. An hour of waiting Dr Paye obliged us and came to the room. However, our non aggressive demeanor was met with aggression and rudeness. Dr Paye walked in with an attitude and a fire under her attitude that showed no intention of meeting us in order to give us information. We addressed the Dr politely and asked our questions. We said we understand she is busy and appreciate that she came to us. What we got in return was rudeness. She told us she has more important patients to see and how dare we call her away to explain anything to us. She is my grandmothers physician and how on earth are we to get information otherwise than summons her. We felt avoided and ignored. My grandmother was in critical condition so does this make her any less important? DR Paye then carried on with her aggressive attitude. We politely asked our questions and she responded with “I do not need to do this” and she stormed off. She answered not one of our questions. We are very disappointed and angered by the attitude we received from this very Dr. we got no information whatsoever when we had a critical grandmother and every hour was of major importance. Yet Dr Paye made it very clear she had better and more important patients to see. This level of unprofessionalism, lack of tact and rudeness is unacceptable. As a patient my grandmothers medical aid pays to get her private hospital care, yet the very Dr you are paying thinks you are of little importance and blatantly tells the family so. We as a family are very angered by this and would not advice any one to have their family members taken care of by DR Paye and the union hospital or the Clinton hospital.
