Dr MHA Hassim withholding clinical report of patients and signing Insurance documents from

Hello there,

I have a complaint regarding Dr MHA Hassim from the Netcare group St Augustine Hospital in Durban whose withholding signing off and providing clinical report for patient for insurance claim , (critical illness)

My dad went for a procedure which Dr Hassim was the cardiologist for the treatment done with Dr B Vezi in May 2020, so after the procedure was done my dad submitted his insurance policy to be signed by the doctors which Dr B Vezi did without hesitation and sent the clinical report swiftly but Dr MHA Hassim did not who gave us the run around from last year May 2020 to presently, which is ridiculous for it to be more than over a year and to be still asking them to sign or give us the clinical report for the patient.

I have all the proof of emails sent to the receptionist and to Momentum regarding this issue and of all the excuses of withholding signing the documents fir the patient.

They always made up excuses for why the documents are still not signed like the receptionist mentioned they waiting for the clinical report from the doctor and needs one more signature from last year …

I even went personally to the doctors rooms to see the doctor but was told he had an emergency, this has happened more than twice whereby my dad made an appointment to see the doctor for a check up to sign the documents, only to be told last minute the doctor is not available for the appointment.

It has been really frustrating to run around in circles with this doctor avoiding the paperwork to be signed for my dads insurance policy to go through, my dad is currently very ill and unable to work due to his health and condition and has no source of income, yet this doctor is refusing to sign the documents on what terms ? as they are not telling us …why ?!

It is my dads policy which he has paid for all his working life so now that he needs some source of funds whether it goes through and momentum accepts it is or not is entirely held back by Dr Hassim.

The broker from Momentum has also called Dr Hassim’s rooms numerous times and spoke to the receptionist to also get the same story as they waiting for the the doctor to complete the forms as well.

This is extremely unprofessional and truly frustrating to deal with this doctor and his bad attitude towards his patients, it is somewhat that it is personal vendetta that this doctor has towards my dad hence the refusal and the playing games of stalling on this issue with ********* behaviour of Dr Hassim who has been my dads history cardiologist.

Please can you assist in this matter.
