Do yourself a favor, and do NOT go there!!!!!!

This must be the worst hospital in SA, government hospitals included!! My mother in law stayed there for more than a week. She is so weak, she can't turn around, feed herself or drink water. The staff didn't help her. When the children or grandchildren came to visit her in the evening, she was starving. She could only have soft food like porridge, soup or jelly and custard, but they would bring her provita and an apple, which they just left on the bedside table. On numerous occasions we found the bell in the holder against the wall, totally out of reach. The nurses just did not want to be bothered. We spoke to a manager who promised to ensure that it wouldn't happen again, and who also promised to leave her business card with my mother in law, but when we visited her, the bell was in the holder against the wall again and there was no business card to contact the manager we spoke to. My mother was transferred to another facility, and the hospital did not even sent her medication with her. When she arrived at the care centre, the staff were speechless about all the bed sores that she had. The level of care and compassion at Pinehaven Hospital is not just shocking, it's disgusting!!!
