Good Day
I would like to please share the extremely bad service I received from the Netcare Pinehaven Hospital. On the 28th November 2017 I went to the hospital to see a Doctor as I was not feeling well. Upon arrival I went to the Casualty department where I was assisted by a very friendly and bubbly lady. Unfortunately things took a U turn from there on. When I needed to go into the triage section to meet the Nurse who would identify the type of assistance I needed with regards to my illness, the Nurse by the name of SINAH was extremely impatient and really did not care to even want to assist. The lady at reception had to ask her numerous times to attend to me and she did not care to assist, Instead she saw it more fit to speak to her other colleagues and ignore the patients waiting for her attention. Eventually when she decided that she was going to assist, she had no smile on her face, very dismissive and made me feel like she was doing me a favour just by checking me. She was extremely irritated and handled me with no care had no interest in finding out what exactly I was there for. I then reported her to the Sister in charge at the casualty as I was not happy at all with the treatment I was given.
Furthermore I then needed to be admitted and was taken through to the Medical ward ********** When I entered the ward I was told that I would be attended by a nurse to come do the background checks. My mother and sister waited with me until 20:00pm and I was still not attended. Only @10:22pm I was attended by the nursed who then booked me into the award after waiting and waiting. I was disheartened by the treatment and question whether all the patients that come here are treated this was, especially in their state of health .I decided not to mention it and said maybe it’s just a mistake, the days went by and I eventually adapted to the care free environment and continued to watch Nurses speak about patients with other patients and complained when the frail old people needed assistance.
By the 3rd day I wanted to leave no matter what the Dr said I wanted to get out of that hospital in a flash. Sadly though I had to wait for results from the Dr. While waiting my linen was changed while I took a shower, to my dismay, the linen had reddish marks on it and brown patches that made me feel uncomfortable. I then rang my buzzer and asked for my linen to be changed ,a student nurse by the name of JABU then stormed in with irritation written all over her face and started telling me “THIS IS RUST,THIS IS RUST,CANT YOU SEE” I was taken a back and then told her I don’t care what it is ,I am not sleeping in a bed that makes me feel uncomfortable. She then stormed out and fetched new linen ,as she went out she then further went in the corridors and started speaking about me to a Sister in the ward in Zulu, I then went to them both and asked whether my request was a problem and whether them talking about patients is fair. They both were stunned and I asked to see the Unit Manager. As I relayed the story to the Unit Manager, JABU continued to speak in Zulu through the corridors uttering “I DON’T KNOW WHY SOME PEOPLE THINK THEY DESERVE SPECIAL TREATEMENT”,I got so mad and irritated to a point where I felt like crying. The Unit Manager called JABU to apologies to me but she just looked at me with attitude and dismissed me. I then vowed to take the matter further and knew that I never ever want to set foot in that hospital ever again.
