************** at Netcare Christiaan Barnard

Today I went to see my 10 year old son At Netcare Christiaan Barnard just before 3. Just prior to me and my wife visiting my son, his biological father visited him whom we had a chat with in the foyer. I was so inspired by Christiaan Barnards story when I read it on ground floor before entering the lifts. Screening went well and I was well on my way to see him. When I reached 12th floor the security allowed me and my wife in the ward. When I entered I was humiliatingly refused entry because his biological dad already visited him and the hospital policy apparently is that one parent other than the mother could have gone in. So does Netcare Christiaan Barnard not see a step dad as a parent. I walked out of the ward and only after my wife spoke to the sister in charge did they tell my wife she can ask me to quickly come in. No apology even, just **** treatment. Well done for making a step dad feel like a pumpkin (I actually don't want to mention what I feel like typing).
