DENIED A CLINIC CARD

Good Day

I gave birth at Netcare Alberton Hospital on the 16th of September and upon discharge we informed some of the staff that our child will not be taking the BCG and Polio vaccine. We were told that our child will not get the clinic card because she is not vaxxed.

We were told that the main purpose of those baby booklets is for immunisation. According to our understanding we thought that they are also used to track the baby’s development. They said what if we will *****ulently record the vaccines ourselves of which that is not possible because vaccines have batch numbers.

So what are we supposed to use if we are taking our child to a clinic? Were they not supposed to write that we refused to take the vaccine? And they said that we have up to a year to take those vaccines. Where must we track our child’s development?
