Complaint Regarding Netcare Mulbarton Casualty

Hello Peter, I would like to raise a serious complaint regarding my experience at Netcare Mulbarton Casualty, particularly concerning Dr. Combrink and the overall standard of care I received. Dr. Combrink discharged me and gave me two Ativan when I was emotionally okay at the time. What concerns me deeply is that I was then expected to drive myself home after being given two Ativan. I find this extremely concerning from a patient-safety perspective. I would like to understand how it was considered appropriate or safe for me to leave the casualty department and drive home in that condition. This experience has honestly left me very disappointed with Netcare Mulbarton. The hospital is not what I remember it being, and the standard of service and patient care seems to have declined significantly. Even before seeing the doctor, the experience was frustrating. You sit waiting for triage while staff members appear to be talking and spending time on their phones, while patients are waiting for attention. As a patient, it is extremely upsetting to sit there feeling that you are not being prioritised or taken seriously. The entire experience felt more like what I would expect at an overcrowded government hospital than what I have previously experienced at Netcare Mulbarton. I am not saying this to insult the staff or hospital. I am raising it because I genuinely believe there is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. Patients come to a private hospital expecting to receive professional, attentive and safe care, particularly when they are already vulnerable or unwell. I would appreciate it if this complaint could be formally investigated, particularly the circumstances surrounding my discharge, the administration of two Ativan, and the expectation that I could safely drive myself home afterwards. I would also like feedback regarding the concerns I have raised about the conduct and responsiveness of staff in the casualty department. I have always had a certain expectation of Netcare Mulbarton, which is why this experience has been particularly disappointing. I sincerely hope this matter will be taken seriously and not simply dismissed as another patient complaint. Kind regards,
