Charged for items not used

On the 6 November 2016 I went to Linmed ER Department for an outpatient consultation with a doctor regarding a tooth abscess.

I was given no medication whatsoever, instead I requested that I be given a script for an oral antibiotic which I collected at my own pharmacy.

On the 14th December I received an account with an additional charge of R71.60 for "Intravenous Treatment" which I did NOT receive!

I then queried (via email) the above on the 14th December 2016 but received no response with the exception of an automated email stating that "a ticket had been opened".

Hearing NOTHING further I then emailed Linmed ER again on the 10th January 2017 and called ER Corporate Call Centre at 11:15am and spoke to Pinkie who promised to follow up with her manager and call and email me asap.

Needless to say I never received the promised feedback and I emailed the Linmed ER Department again 10 January 2017, I am still waiting for any response!!

I realise that R71.60 is a very small amount, however I refuse to be charged for something I never used...In addition to this, how many other people have been overcharged in the same way I have been and have not yet realised it?

It doesn't take much calculations to realise this could be the tip of a very, very large billings iceberg.

I am hoping that by making use of this platform I will get some feedback from the relevant Provider as well as warning other patients to be extremely vigilant when making use of Linmed ER Department.

Regards, Mrs. Waterworth ***.
