Brilliant staff but lousy management staff

I spent time in three hospitals the past few months and hope never to land up in this one again.

The nursing, cleaning, catering and other supporting staff were really fantastic although on a few occasions clearly driven past the point of exhaustion. They all gave everything they could of themselves. In spite of the pressure they remained friendly and accessible.

The intravenous drip equipment are ancient and need to be thrown out and replaced.

Diesel engines (trucks?) were started early in the morning and left idling directly under the open windows with choking fumes getting in and unbearable noise.

The bathroom was totally unsuitable to a hospital, especially to people in a wheelchair or using crutches as I was. It is badly planned, poorly built and inadequately stocked. No space, not enough support rails; mirror to high for people in a wheelchair; shower extremely dangerous for mobility impaired person; no button to call cleaning staff.

The admin staff can't care less about the patients. They have a feedback process but no one cares or follows up to obtain input from patients.

Reviewer Update

Eagerly waiting to see if I hear from you. I logged my concerns with the admin survey person the day I left. I followed up with an email directly to the two people concerned. I then followed up with an email to the Customer Service Centre. All three during March. Still waiting for any of them to reply.
