Bogus services and surcharges on statement - absolute dishonesty
Be careful for the hidden charges and bogus surcharge.
My wife went for a consultation at Bougainville Hospital Emergency Room on the 31st of December 2017. We requested the receptionist to pay for the full account and was advised then only to pay after the consultation. The Doctor then saw her and gave her a drip while see was in the consultation room. She was never admitted into hospital. Afterwards the receptionist checked the file and advise that the fees including the drip was R 700.00 which we paid.
In February 2018 received a sms from the hospital for R 1 003.00 extra. I enquired a statement but never received one. After my third attempt to know what the extra fees is about, a Magda Putter responded. I explained that all the fees was paid and she was never admitted. She undertook to look into the matter and get back to us. She never did.
On the 12th of November we received another sms threatening with ITC if the account is not paid. Once again I sent the mail stating the same details. A Karabo Nchabeleng then contacted me and stated that this was a surge charge to use the facility. I was astounded and did insist that I am disputing the charges as they are bogus charges. He did not want to listen to reason and stated the amount will remain outstanding.
I requested the statement once again and only received it today. The statement charges contains services not rendered and a bogus surcharge of R 874.40 only to use a room for consultation (This is after the doctor has been paid)
