Blacklisted while negotiating
I was hospitalised for 4 days but the mrdical aid paid for 3 days. The hospital case manager did not get authorisation for the extra stay as I was not able to do so. They sent me a bill for R2670.00 for the day. After discussing with accounts department either to sort out with the doctor, case manager and the relevant persons there was no correspondense.

I then asked if I could pay in instalments or get a once off reduced amount. Spoke to 2 people but they are adamant that the case manager did her job. I heard nothing. Yesterday I received information that I am blacklisted for this amount.

Relatively a small amount but there is no principle in this issue. Very quick to blacklist.

Disappointing indeed.

Best regards,
In November 2019 I was hospitalised. the very same thing happened and St. Augustines Hospital accounts department was closed and relocated to JHB. they have handed me over to their attorneys for an amount of R9600.00 plus. I went to court and the Magistrate asked me to get a lawyer who will address this matter appropriately and comprehensively.
Months later (last year) after an settlement, the attorneys demanding more. Now I will defend it again. My medical Aid and Specialists have told them that they did not follow protocol. lets see what happens from hereon.
Just to inform people that I had a major surgery in May last year (2021) at Ribumed Hospital (next to ST. Augustines). not one issue at all.
Kind Regards,
Arvin Hooseria
