BAD AND RUDE SERVICE NETCARE FEMINA

My husband and I drove to Netcare Femina hospital around 2 am as I was in labour.I have always been a Netcare girl,as I gave birth to my 2 girls at the same hospital in 2012 and 2015.My husband never understood why we had to drive all the way from our house in Waterkloof to Femina,yet we were close to Mediclinic Kloof,Unitas and Netcare Pretoria East hospitals.For me it was about the experience I had from my previous births and the fact that Femina and the Dr's believed more in natural births as compared to other hospitals.In addition,I once worked for Netcare as an accountant and had always been a firm believer in Netcare's service, the Netcare's promise!As part of the management team,a complaint was taken seriously and something our hospital tried to avoid. I gave birth at Netcare Femina hospital on 17 October 2020 at 9.36 am.The Dr on call did not show only arrived after delivery.The service that I received from the time we parked our car to giving birth was excellent!!I cannot thank the midwife who delivered my baby enough,Sister L Duree she was very nice and professional,including Sister B and Sister E.I must say the night staff service was excellent. Then the nightmare started when 2 black nurses moved me from the labour ward to the orange ward.I had to be in that ward whilst I wait for my covid tests results .I had to say 'black' because I was shocked that as a black woman,the treatment I received from my black sisters was very bad.Whilst the treatment from white sisters in the labour ward was excellent. There was no 2 pin plug in the room,and when I asked the nurses to charge my phone,no one was willing to help.I would ring the bell for service and no one would respond,at times they will answer after 10 minutes.To the point that I will walk to the door to ask for service and the response I got was we are short staffed.I honestly did not know why that was my problem.Why would Netcare be understaffed and have rude nurses?As if I was in a public hospital!!What made it worse was how rude these nurses were.I even asked them to call the manager on duty but they made it a point that they don't come back to me until they left in the morning.I honestly don't know what they were hiding or the fact that the manager was not available!! Fortunately the night manager and the nurses on night duty were nice and willing to help me. Then in the morning the same rude nurses asked me to pack my bags so that I can move to the maternity ward.They just acted as if everything is fine.I then moved to the ward and later again was moved to another ward because the wards were not full.The bathroom tub was full of mould,something that the Hospital can easily get fixed.This is not the same Netcare that I visited in 2015 and 2012.

The bad service and how rude the nurses were spoiled the good service I got from the labour ward!!
