Awful service

On Thursday my sister fell at newtown mall and lost her speech at the same time. I took her to milpark hospital and my sister was discharged on Friday aroubd 1am without finding out what is the cause of her losing her speech. She was advised to come back the next day to get her blood test results for her urine which they suspected that she could be drugged. This did not make any sense to me but I'm not a doctor I took his word for it. We then went back on that Friday around 11am to milpark to get the results they came back negative then asked why she is not talking?! The doctor then ran an MRI scan on her only to find out that she has a stroke. Doctor advised that neurologists are out of town and was going to refer her to garden city. We requested that my sister should be transferred to olivedale clinic or any other hospital close to home as we are based in the north. We were advised that the only available one is at garden city hospital.

My sister was admitted into Garden City Hospital on Friday the 29/07/2016 as she has a stroke which affected her speech. Garden city hospital only caters halal meals and due to cultural and religious reasons my sister does not eat food prepared in a halal kitchen. We brought this issue to the staff; her doctor, nurses and the kitchen manager. We were advised that food would be ordered from the rehab hospital and delivered to her. This has never happened till today. This morning she was advised that the kitchen can not accept non halal food into their kitchen so she was not served breakfast she had to wait for me to come bring her food during visiting hours. She was promised that kashor meals will be provided to her for supper. At 5pm she was told the driver is stuck in traffic and at around about 8pm they say there's no food for her.

My sister was admitted on Friday till today Monday the 01/08/2016 she has not been served any meal besides yogaurt and juice. Is that normal though? When she should be getting the best service and comfortable while she gets healed?

Kindly advise ise if this is acceptable? Because if it was a Muslim patient in any other hospital provisions would be made for them. I'm not happy with what has happened I'm at home worrying about my sisters health now I need to worry about her not being healthy as I need to bring her food everyday which means I need to skip work and buy her food cause I get home late after visiting hours as the hospital is far need to take two taxis to get there, can't even go home prepare a meal then make it on time to take the food to her. This is a bit expensive on my side when the hospital needs to be the one to provide this to her. Today I didn't bring her supper as we were assured a meal will be provided.

It feels like she is forced to coerce and eat food which is prepared in a 100% Halal kitchen. She is not happy with her stay at garden city hospital she needs to be transfered to Olivedale, Wegehewel or fourways or any other netcare hospitals available to us which caters for all religions and is more convenient for my mother to even visit her in hospital as she is an old lady and taking too many taxis won't work as she has a knee operation which was done at a life hospital where she got the best service ever.

I pleed that that this matter is taken seriously as its 10:30pm and my sister has not eaten she has gone to bed with an empty stomach. We don't want the something to happen tomorrow so can authorization be done for her to be moved asap!
