My daughter has had many stays at Olivedale Clinic, and we have had to bring her in as a day patient to receive Roxifen on many occasions. During our last stay, we were discharged on the Saturday and told to come back on the Sunday for her last antibiotic dose. We opened the day patient file the same way we always have. We have now received a bill for an unpaid amount as the full amount could not go through on our savings. We are now being charged as no authorisation number was received? Whenever we have gone into the clinic, the people that open the files etc have ALWAYS obtained authorisation on our behalf, and this includes day admissions as well. I have NEVER had this problem before - so why all of a sudden would this have changed?
The amount put through on our savings needs to be reversed and the FULL amount needs to be put through as an in hospital amount.
I have contacted your accounts department numerous times on this - yet nothing is being resolved.
Medical Aid has advised that a person from your accounts department needs to make contact with them regarding this authorisation that should have been obtained by the clinic at the time of admission.
