Appalling Medical service - Union and Clinton Clinic Alberton

On the 16th of April my Mother was not feeling well and went to the Casualty at the Union Hospital @ +- 4:30, She was seen by the doctor on Duty, who did the blood tests and xrays, She waited for +- 2 hours before the the doctor came back an said she was being admitted as she had Pneumonia, She sat in casualty and waited until after 9 pm where she was told there was no bed available for her. They told her she had to go to the Clinton Hospital which they transferred her in a ambulance, When she arrived @ the Clinton Hospital she was taken to a bed , A drip was put in approximately 3/4 later , my mom rang for a nurse to assist her but not one nurse came to check during the night

On the 17th @ 5:30 a nurse came into the ward, my mom told her that she had been getting cold all night, the nurse then came back with a sheet and put that over my mom. My mom then rang for the nurse again to inform the nurse that her drip has ran dry and that her arm was paining due to the drip being empty and was drawing the blood back into the drip. The nurse then told my mom that she is off duty and would tell the next nurse on duty to change the drip. The day staff arrived and no one came to change the drip.

My mom then got out of bed and went to the nurses station to ask them to please change the drip to which the nurse on duty rep**** that she was busy and would attend to my mom in a little which did not happen, My mom had to go back to the nurses station again to ask for assistance again, at this time my mom was in pain and also very upset . Only then did the nurse come to assist my mom and change the drip.

On the 18th April visiting hours which are between 7 and 8 in the evening, My Dad and myself and my brother went to visit my mom, We had to go for a walk with my mother as another patient had about 14 people at the same time visiting including two children under the age of six , There was so much noise you could not hear each other. These visitors had been with that patient from 11 o'clock that morning , Lets be honest this is a hospital and sick people are lying there, no one in that ward could get any rest due to it being loud and over crowded. + When we brought my mom back to her bed there were to visitors sitting on my moms hospital bed (This is unacceptable)

My Mother did report this to the Nurse and the nurse did nothing but stand and look at my mom,

My Mother then told the Nurse that her arm and hand was throbbing and had pins and needles from the drip and requested the nurse call the doctor and ask if they could take the drip out which the nurse did do,

In the three days my mom was there, the staff did not change the Linen. The staff also gave my mother the incorrect medication which belonged to another patient .

My parents are pensioners and pay a lot for medical Aid to be getting such appalling treatment from a private hospital , This is unacceptable and needs to be addressed with management, Staff need to be rep-remanded for not doing their jobs properly

This is unacceptable
