Angry & disgusted

I've been to garden city on the 10th of February 2020 where I waited in casualty for an hour before i was even taken into triage with my son who had a fever, sore throat horrible cough and sores all over his body and still someone who came after me was seen to first in triage.

Finally got called in where the nurse asked me some questions which I happily answered I told him that my son hadn't eaten from Sunday afternoon to which he told me it's ok I should let him eat in the casualty room... the dr entered the room after a long wait he says to me there is no eating in here put it away so i did.

They then took me out of the cubicle to a waiting area with my son and then put him on a nebulizer, the nebulizer was not working in this waiting area and it was not making the mist a lady walking passed called someone saying that my son is not getting the meds because the nebulizer is not working only then did someone completely different come in to change the fitting.

They sent my son for xrays I asked if the on call pediatrician can see my son to which I was told that if I want a pediatrician to see my son I should have went to one and not come to casualty.

After being in the waiting room I was taken to a small room where blood was taken and then taken back to the waiting room where the news was being done after a while they came to fetch me and put me in the resuscitation room where I was told they gonna have to call a pediatrician by now I was stressing and in tears for the 3rd time 30 min later the dr returns and says his treating my son for his chest and tonsils and did not even give me something for the sores yet he said it's a viral infection my son picked up.

He only gave me a script for a cough and fever then refers me to an ENT and he says if my son get worse I must come back but I must have R3500 coz my medical aid doesn't cover follow ups

Please note that this is a private hospital and this is how we get treated
