After waiting 13 months for an account from Parklane Hospital....now handed over to the Credit Bureau!

This was my response to receiving a "Credit Bureau Listing Letter":

Good Day,

With regards to your letter which I find completely unacceptable please see reasons why this account has not been paid yet:

1) Why has it taken Netcare Parklane Hospital over 13 months to send me an account? 2) When going through the account, there is a discrepancy for an item that was supposedly used while my wife was in Hospital and therefore we queried it. Up to now nobody from Parklane Hospital can give us an answer to this item and why it was used. Would you pay for something that nobody can explain? Instead your accounts department keep sending the same invoice with no explanation. It seems that nobody at Parklane wants to resolve this. Its easier just sending out rude letters of demand. 3) We have approached Discovery with regards to why the account has not been paid and they have sent Parklane an explanation which nobody can seem to find now. Why is the Parklane accounts department not in communication with Discovery to solve this issue? Why does the patient have to sort out the Hospital’s mess? 4) Why is this account for the patient if nobody can validate the item on the account? I AM NOT PAYING FOR SOMETHING THAT PARKLANE HOSPITAL CAN NOT GIVE ME A PROPER EXPLANATION FOR!

I think it best that you contact me on my cell phone urgently or I will be forced to have my legal council take this matter further. You have no right to send out this letter to me without proper communication between all parties involved.

My wife (patient) will be at Discovery tomorrow with this letter trying to sort out Parklane’s account MESS…. Please take note that I will be forwarding your details to my legal counsel in the meantime. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________

Because a mistake was made by Parklane Hospital and their incompetence, it is now for the patient to foot the bill and i find this completely unacceptable.

So an update to my complaint. I received contact from Mischelle Amos at Netcare who assisted me in sorting out my complaint and issue. I was very impressed at her efficiency in dealing with the problem and i would like to thank her for her help.
