ADMINISTRATIVE INJUSTICE
We called into St Augustine's Hospital on 6 February 2015 as my husband was bitten by a dog. Thusfar we only received one bill which has been settled by our medical aid. That was until today when we received a 45 DAY OVERDUE NOTICE from Shamima Amod at Netcare St Augustines, which number one we never received a copy of and number two, upon enquiry with Shamima she said it was submitted to our medical aid on 24 March 2015. This is almost 2 months after the incident. Not only that but the notice to us is dated 26 March 2015. TWO days after submitting to the medical aid she has the audacity to slap us with an overdue notice and says to us this is standard policy!!! Hospitals and medical centres are quick to say its the patients responsibility to ensure the account gets settled- how about having the decency to submit the account to us in the first place? I suggest Netcare you sort your administrative procedures out. I certainly do not see why us or any other members of the public for that matter must be at risk of getting listed as slow payers or non payers due to the clear lack of competence displayed by your staff and we take exception to this.
