Accumulate bills and no explanation

The hospital in polokwane area is a nightmare ,my mother was admitted after a referral from her Gp with covid complications, she couldn’t breathe, before this she her medical history never had any chronic conditions, she stayed for 9 days the 10th she was discharged with a discharge file Ty states that she is still Covid positive a long list of meds that she still needs to buy amongst these where TB medication that we later found the lab results that said it was not detected

The hospital later ordered her to take shorts for blood clots at a lab that cost her a fortune for 12 months

We later received a bill from netcare saying my mom owes the hospital bill for R53000 that her medical aid couldn’t pay

We are not happy because no one once to explain after the medical aid for everything else what is this R53000 for and why my mom has to pay it?

She was discharged worse than she was addimitted with moo complications ,

Please help understand since the whole experience of the hospital traumatising for my mother
