You broke your promise and I'm paying for it.

After a long process, I finally got you to terminate my service, with immediate effect on 15/11/2016 because of clause 14.1.1.1 of your terms and conditions. You agreed to collect the device and waiver any charges in respect to the termination of service and any other charges on my account, as I had not received the service I signed up for. If you kept your promises, I would say our story ended their and we all lived happily ever after. But this was not to be.

On the 13th December, to my absolute horror, I received an SMS from your contracted debt collection agency that I owed you money, and later received an email showing that I owed even more - the termination charge. So I phoned your call centre and was helped by a very friendly and naive young man, who submitted a request to have a credit request sumbitted to your finance department. A week later (21/12/2016), I received an email to confirm that the request had been sent. (YAY!!) The story still doesn't end there. Unfortunately...

Then this afternoon i received an SMS from your debt collection agency, telling me that I have 96 hours to pay R2009.95... Again, I am compelled to phone your call centre and received a pitiful attempt at helping me get to the bottom of this. Apparently, your finance department was closed during the Christmas period - but clearly not closed enough that they could still hand me over to NuDebt because your company didn't do it's job properly. Now my credit profile is being negatively affected because YOU made promises at our "marriage" and our "divorce" that you couldn't keep. This consultant said he would send a request to the finance department to have this credit request finalised but I asked to speak to a manager because I can not trust anyone in your company to do what they promise. I was then cut off. Now I can't get hold of anyone in the call centre.

I am the one having to pay.

Not you.

Me.

Now this what I need you to do. Credit every cent on my account, and give me written confirmation that this has happened. Then I want you reverse any effect your maladministration has had on my credit profile. You can keep the house and the kids that came from our relationship, I want NOTHING to do with you or anything related to Neotel.

You can contact me for my account number.

So, the majority of my account has been credited (thank you!) but there is still an amount of R109.93 outstanding. I'm still paying for a service I didn't receive.

I spoke to to a customer service agent this morning, who didn't see the problem I was having and after 15 minutes of trying to help her see the problem, tried to transfer me to retentions so I could speak to Vinolia - she transferred to me Sales in the end. A wonderful man by the name of Elliot was very helpful - sending an email to Vinolia with my telephone number so she could contact me, and suggested I speak to billing to help resolve the problem. He transferred me to Dineo (who was also wonderful) but couldn't help me, and said it would be best if Vinolia helped me. This telephone call took 31mins. You add up how much I'll have to pay MTN for that one. (I'm still paying!)

So, why do you insist on making me pay for a service I continually struggled with from the moment I signed the contract? Why am I still paying for your broken promises? Vinolia agreed that I should not have to pay for October's service because I didn't get a service. And when I was still invoiced for October, someone on your end very kindly cancelled the debit order so that I wouldn't have to pay.

But guess what? I'm still paying.

You've also still got my name on NuDebt's list.

Step 1: Credit the R109.93 that I don't owe you

Step 2: Take my name off NuDebt's collections list

Step 3: Make sure my credit rating is unharmed by this whole debacle.

The result: we don't have to talk to each other ever again and I will stop posting these things, which ultimately waste MY time and MY money. I have baby arriving in the next 3-4 weeks, so I will have better things to do with my time and money.
