Worst Consumer Experience of my LIFE

STAY CLEAR OF NEOTEL-Worst Consumer Experience in my life

Forgive me in advance for my wrong grammar, spelling and sentence construction as I am angry.

Latest Case-R ********** 53 and Ref SREQ_ ********** 51

Full name Keathan Ramraj

I am a new consumer, this is my first contract. So it began when I called through with regards to neotels 15GB neoflex for R239/month- 2 year contract.

I was greeted and given all information by a sales agent Obakeng. His service was so good I sent an email to his manager to commend him. It was discussed that I would receive the package in 2-3 days time which at that time would have made it thrusday or Friday. After calling in 3 times I received it on Tuesday. The waiting period and expectations 1stly were severely skewed. That should have been my first indication to run but I did not , decided to give them a chance. I wanted to router for online gaming , and I asked what are the cancellation charged if the speeds are not good and I cancelled within the allotted 7 days as required to by law. Obakeng assured me it will be just a activation charge of R30-+ andpro rata data charges which was fine.

I received the router eventually. The speeds I received were abysmal, at times it was slower than a dial up modem, taking 5+-minutes to load a single page during peak times. I had to leave the modem on for hours to download since streaming was impossible. Gaming was unthinkable.

I then called through and spoke to Obakeng to cancel the contract after 3 days since the speeds were unthinkable. It was then arranged within the 7 day period that the package would be picked up on the Friday. I left the package for pickup at my work reception as discussed and the package was only picked up a few days later in the following week.

I did not think much of this and expected my +- R100 payment as was discussed. A few weeks later I get an invoice for R367.26. I immediately call in, cannot get through to Obakeng so I speak to someone else. They say I am still active and I owe that money for the pro rata charge and the month that has passed. I tell them that I have given in the device a month ago and I am suppose to be terminated. They said they will enquire.

Since then it has taken up until very recently for my account to even be known as terminated. For this to even happen I had to make numerous(around 5, Countless emails ) ( I even spoke to someone from the accounts division who assured me that this will be sorted) I think phone calls to follow up as well as a visit to a neotell branch (opposite menlyn mall Pretoria East) where I was greeted and helped by the rudest agent I have ever met, Lindiwe, saying she cannot help me, I need to call the customer care. I asked her aren’t you the same company, can you check my account, the agent was so rude, Shusshing me and using her hand to stop me from asking her when she is dialing the number, rolling her eyes, she said that cause I did not do the sale through them that they cannot help, thet they are different and I need to speak to that person. All I wanted to know is why isn’t the system linked, so that she can see and know what is going on, she said that there is no notes and forced me to tell Obakeng to make notes. Whle im on the phone with him

He then said that the invoice needed to be changed and that he will handle it and I asked him to send me a reference number. This is now after countless attempts at asking for it to be changed and correct hey. I get a reference number via email. I then assumed after so much of my airtime spent, so many emails sent and phone calls everything will be sorted out.

I oke up on the 02/07 Saturday morning to find that R376.26 was debited from my account. I immediately called in AGAIN and spoke to a lovely assistant called Siboniso, who calmed me down and assured me everything is ok.

I have told this story so many times now so that it can just be sorted. I have received an email today saying that I will be credited the incorrect amount. I ask you though?? What if I did not have food and you took my food money for my kids? Or newborn baby? Because you are too *********** as a company to even have a system which communicates anything about your clients.

I have today-06/07/2016 received and email which looked like an advert from Neotel for the new neoflexi 15 and 10 gb prices. There was a PDF attached which looked like a pamphlet. When I opened it is said that that I owe R2000+ because of termination fee, + R367.26 for the charges – R367.26 for how much was paid.

I then again, have to call in and ask why?????? Speak again to someone and explain AGAIN???asked after since the consultant did not seem to know anything on how to deal with a distressed customer to speak to someone else, waited on the line for another 10 min then I asked to speak to Siboniso who confirmed it was a mistake. I have been extremely patient, understanding that mistakes happen, but, this many mistakes in one encounter? I want this sorted out today.

This is my first complaint email about any service provider, I usually send compliments only. Congratulations on winning Neotel.

Keathan Ramraj
