Pathetic Customer Service & Excuses

On the 30th of May 2016, I called Neotel to find out the settlement amount on my account, since I had taken out a contract data package, which ran into arrears after I lost my job. I spoke to a guy named Luthando, who gave me the settlement amount, and told me that due to non-payment, the contract had been terminated. I then told him that I still wanted the same SIM card, but as a pre-paid simcard. He told me that only after I paid the outstanding amount, would they be able to put through my request for processing. I went into the bank, paid the outstanding amount and send through proof of payment to them. I called in and spoke to a lady, who confirmed they received my payment. She proceeded to put through my request, after which she gave me a referrence number and told me it would take 24 to 48 working hours.

It has now been a FULL 7 working days, and I have received NO feedback from them. I have made countless phonecalls to them. The one lady I spoke too, Caroline, told me " the query is still opened, and I must call back after 2-3 hours to check". When I called back, I spoke to a guy named Tebogo, who also told me the query is still opened, and that I MUST EMAIL THEIR RETENTIONS DEPARTMENT, BECAUSE THEY ARE BASED IN RANDBURG AND NOT HERE IN DURBAN.

I as a customer feel very disgusted at their poor customer service and how they have an excuse for everytime I call. I will definitely advise my friends and family to NOT take or purchase any Neotel products. I will also be taking Neotel to the Consumer Council for this.
