NEOTEL TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE
I would not recommend for anyone to open a neotel data account. I have been with neotel for over a year now, and I took a second data line for my home. The deal seemed too good to be true , great price for 50G. So i took it, and it worked perfectly.
At the end of August we moved, so BEFORE the move I called in to the call centre and gave them our new address to find out if we have coverage. I was told there was coverage where we were moving to and there would be no interruption in our data.
3 weeks later and hundreds of rands calling the call centre and I have no coverage, they keep insisting that I do have coverage but I need to get an antenna, which they say I can get from poynting antennas. They do not cover that cost. The antennas I have googled run over 1500!!! So Im stuck between a rock and a hard place, I have this contract which I cannot use, but must pay for at the end of the month regardless, and I have to self out over R1500 to get this antenna!
If I cancel the contract I will also be charged!! I am so frustrated with the call centre, you call in and speak for 30 min on the phone and still no solution, each time they just tell me , my area is covered!
If its covered then why do I not have a signal..last night I called and the lady said I must walk around the house with the router until the signal light comes on...which I did....but still no signal. Only to be told after R100 of airtime is gone...that I should get an antenna!
Why cant they send a technician to check ? This is a breach of our contract, if they say I have coverage then they need to send someone to have a look and see why my signal is still off.
