NEOTEL REFUSES TO HONOUR POOR QUALITY PHONES

I took out a Neochoice 100 contract via Autopage cellular (Mitabyte / Springfield) last year, and was given the HTC Desire VC. The phone was problematic from the start, being slow, freezing and over-heating frequently, resulting in automatic resetting of the phone whenever it ran hot. 7 months after purchase, the phone became very during a call. I heard a loud popping sound, and found that the screened had cracked spontaneously from the heat, in the absence of any physical injury to the phone. This was promptly reported to the store of original purchase, but I was turned away stating that any physical damage to the phone invalidates the warranty. On 09/07/2015, the phone went completely dead, This was taken in to the original store of purchase, on 10/07/2015, who indicated that the phone is not repairable. Neotel refuses to give a response in writing and refuses to assist. Several people I had spoken to, who purchased similar handsets, also experienced similar problems. Online enquiry revealed that this is a common defect with this handset, hence necessitating its discontinuation.
