Neotel - a worse telecoms company than even Telkom

I was excited to sign up with Neotel earlier this year to obtain dedicated broadband. The installation went well but then the operational phase started. The internet was never available and when you logged a call it was never returned or took too long to follow up.

After 4 months of paying for the service but only getting circa 10% uptime - then even send you a data usage account showing that it is down - we decided to cancel with one months notice. The normal principle of poor service - no pay.

We obtained a final bill from them and settled this amount - thinking that this has been finalised and we never had to talk to each other again .

"Neotels systems and controls were non existent - good luck to the company that plans to buy them as the whole business needs some help"

Alas - 3 months later a debt collection agency - NuDebt Management (Pty) Ltd - starts hounding me for payment - noting that i owed circa R1500 for de installation costs. They could not provide any documentation to prove that we had signed a contract to that effect - which we had not - as i said no systems or controls

I then received this sms - 6 HOURS NOTICE: MR FUTTER pay your NEOTEL acc at ABSA NuDebt Acc ********** 402, Ref: ND ********** 1 Amount R1532.51. To avoid any bad credit,

I understood that Consumers had rights - i have written this story up in a letter and sent to Fin24 as a follow up on the Vodacom overbilling situation. Only by shouting on social media do you get anything done for bad service

Neotel - you make Telkom look efficient and honest
