Wrong account deposit

I made a payment to a client of mine who supp**** me with his name and account details with FNB. Unfortunately the last four digits were incorrect. I contacted Nedbank to please reverse the payment or alternatively get in touch with FNB and confirm with their client that I had paid into their account by mistake. They refused and said that I have to complete a recall form which they would send me. I couldn’t open the form and had to rush to the branch and fill it out there. When the teller told me it could take up to 7 weeks to sort out I was flabbergasted. A simple phone call to their counterparts at FNB to confirm with their client they refused to do. In the meantime my client is out of pocket and by the time Nedbank gets the answers the money would probably be gone. The teller bluntly told me that I can then lay a charge of ***** which will probably take another couple of months. This is so ridiculous and unprofessional. One can understand that many con men use ********** names to open accounts and banks are trying to stop this unsuccessfully I may add. A simple phone could have resolved the problem in ten minutes. Not a happy client. When I asked the teller that the client ‘s name was correct and the account number different she told me that it doesn’t matter. It is now going to cost me R 395.00 to fill out the recall form. What is the pie of the RICA act if banks are accepting deposits where the name and account number are different?
