Worst service ever

During August, I opened a new current account with Nedbank. I opened this account in Lambton Germiston. Firstly they have a pathetic queuing system that made me wait for an hour before I could get the consultant. The bank was not even full. Finally I open the account after an hour of being there. Secondly I was given a temporary card after opening which I was told I will receive an SMS to come and collect the card once it has arrived. Indeed I received the SMS. I went to collect, bear in mind other banks deliver the card at your doorstep. It took me 2 hours this time to get through the consultant and obtain the card.

Wait for it, when I get to the consultant she gave me two cards. So I asked her mam I opened one account, why are you giving me two cards she said I don’t know. How disappointing.

Then I did my own research and I found out that the other card is an American express and the other one is normal VISA cards incase the American Express doesn’t work.

It gets worse, now I have the card, I have opened the account. So I took the confirmation and submitted to my HR department for salary payment. The first salary was supposed to be in on the 25th of September. My company did a payment on the 23 of Sep and selected the pay now option. Meaning the money was supposed to be in my account by the 23 of Sep already. The payment bounced back two times.

We checked the banking details that they captured on the system against the confirmation I got from Nedbank when I opened the account. All was correct.

The other point was when I opened the account with Nedbank they were advertising that they will switch my debit orders. It’s been more than two weeks since I gave them that instruction and they have not switched a single debit order. I had to call my debit orders and switch them myself. I am told it takes up to 30 days for them to switch a debit order. Tell me how difficult it is to pick a phone and switch a debit order. It sounds nice when they advertise it until you have to go through the process.

Well now the debit orders I switched bounced back as unpaid because there was no money in my account as my salary did not go through. I should have stuck with my current bank I regret all of this.

This morning I called the call centre and a consultant told me that he will investigate and can only get back to me at 11:30. Bear in mind I did not pay my brother’s school fees, debit orders bounced, I was broke the entire pay day weekend, I did not have money to fill my tank this morning, I had builders that were supposed to come at my house but I stopped them because I was not paid. The builders are now elsewhere and it takes a month to secure a booking with them since they are very busy.

I am so disappointed at Nedbank and I told my husband to cancel his account that he had opened.
