Worst banking experience with the Kwadukuza branch & Home loans division
I now understand why so many clients decide to switch to professional banks. I have certainly over-stayed. 1. In June 2016 I settled a home loan (for which my life policy had been demanded by Nedbank... against a bond account). Have exhausted all forms of correspondence demanding my life policy back. God knows why the bank is keeping it. Calls, emails, faxes, you name it, have not borne any fruit. Being instructed to fax my ID; Complete and email release of cession form; instructed to let the spouse sign. I AM JUST DRAINED. THE COSTS OF ALL THESE.... AND TIME FOR THAT MATTER!
It seems I need legal intervention for this. Waiting more than a year (after my first follow up on my policy in September 2016) suggests my family will not have access to this document in the eventuality of my death or anything.
2. Professional banking institutions inform clients of any sort of changes attached to their services; not with Nedbank... Stanger branch in particular.
Following the procedures known to me as a client for more than 2 decades with the bank, on 7 September I handed in a request for a cheque book.
Trying to collect the book, on 20 September I was turned away; told then that the letter that has always been updated annually at the beginning of the year, was no longer considered; I was instructed to submit one with a more recent date.
After making an effort to edit the letter and get hold of all the signatories I went to the same Kwadukuza branch on 10 October 2017. This time round, was told ,"You are carrying a wrong format of the letter. You should use a template provided by the bank" (which I was never apprised of when I ordered the book and when I was turned away on 20 September). Can't wait to hear what's gonna be the next reason of non-issuing the next time I go. If only it was not the organisation's account... I would long be gone.
3. The cherry on top of my frustration is , on the same day (which I declared my bad day with the Kwadukuza branch) ,I stood more than 30 minutes in front of the teller cashing a cheque for three thousand nine hundred and eight rand and nitety cents. When I could no longer bear standing and starring at the teller counting (as if it was for three hundred thousand or something ), I requested a break by sitting on the inquiries bench.
How on earth does such a huge institution fail to copy what other banks do?. .just indicate to clients a trainee is providing service... then a client makes a choice of waiting or leaving.
