Worst Bank Ever
I signed up for a Nedbank Personal Loan some time ago, and my troubles began in October 2020. During that month, the scheduled debit payment was not processed by Nedbank. As a result, they deducted a double payment the following month without prior consultation. I decided to cancel the direct debit and began making cash payments, which were consistently on time. However, I encountered another issue when I started receiving regular SMS notifications claiming that my account was in arrears, with varying amounts each month. Communicating with the call center agents was an incredibly frustrating experience as they seemed unresponsive.
This month, I successfully switched my credit to my current bank, and they settled the outstanding balance on the 25th, with me covering the shortfall on the 29th via an instant payment, which typically takes 2-4 hours, or up to 4 hours in the worst-case scenario. Surprisingly, it took Nedbank's systems two days to reflect this payment, and I was concerned that they might charge me an additional payment at the end of the month.
After numerous threats of legal action, Nedbank finally resolved my issue. However, I must say that their customer service agents were the most uncooperative I have encountered. They often failed to listen to my concerns and even transferred my call without notifying me, leading me to irrelevant departments at times. To make matters worse, my profile listed a cellphone number belonging to someone named Gog Sarah, which was absurd. Whenever I attempted to update my cellphone number, I was told it couldn't be done over the phone. I was then directed to the manual verification process, where I waited on hold for 8 minutes, only to be told that it didn't update the system. This entire ordeal felt like a complete joke.
In conclusion, I am relieved to have finally severed ties with Nedbank, and I no longer have to contend with their *********** agents, who, in my opinion, are in desperate need of retraining.
