Why do you keep on referring me to SMS notifications. This doesn't help me!!!

Dear Kamal Bipulprasad, (Client Service Resolution Manager). My initial complaint reference number CCM ********** 4 refers: Thank you for reply (attached). Why does Nedbank insist that this antiquated method of managing duplicate authorization / duplicate pending transactions is effective? It's not! And no other bank uses this ineffective method to check duplicate authorization holds. Stop referring me to your SMS notifications. SMS notifications doesn't manage duplicate Authorisation Holds, does it??? Why is it so difficult to understand that your suggested method does NOT help me in establishing whether duplicate authorization holds have been imposed on my account? Now then, since you seem to believe your process is effective, would you please check duplicate authorization holds on my account and, if any, release these duplicate holds immediately. You see, my problem is this: I received your notification of a successful transaction yet the POS device returned a DECLINED message. The transaction was therefore reprocessed and I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHETHER OR NOT THIS DECLINED TRANSACTION HAS RESULTED IN A DUPLICATE AUTHORISATION HOLD. Am I making more sense now or are you still failing to understand? Do you still believe that your suggested method of managing duplicate authorization holds, is effective? Well, it's not. So, since you cannot provide me with a means of checking duplicate authorization holds, you check for me and fix any that might exist. Do you grasp the concept of a DUPLICATE AUTHORISATION HOLD??????????

My frustration is this: Nedbank doesn't have a solution. That's the bottom line. You have no functionality to allow your customers to view pending cheque-card transactions so if there are any duplicate authorization holds on an account, we will never know, accept if we monitor our balances (difference between available balance and account balance) pedantically. I don't have time for that. What infuriates me even more is that your Resolution Managers refer me to your SMS notifications services. How on earth did they become Resolution Managers in the first place? Let's use this scenario to education Nedbank. I use my card for a purchase and I receive an SMS notification (from Nedbank) confirming success. Then the POS returns a "do not honour" message and the transaction is re-processed. What happened to that first authorization hold because I didn't get notified of any reversal of the first authorization hold where my balance was adjusted? Was it reversed or not? This is what is known as a duplicate authorization hold. Don't bother getting anyone to contact me, thank you. Your proposed solution (and the only one you have) will simply not work for me so I know what I have to do. Thanks for your prompt response though.
