Who wants to go into a branch to close an account?

If you are not a private wealth client Nedbank doesn't care about their clients. I have been a client of Nedbank since I was 10years old. But I am done now. I am trying close my account via the call centre and they are telling me that I have to "visit" a branch to close it. They cannot tell me why I need to go into the bank to close it, only that I must. This is absurd. I am phoning in, I am authorized, there is no money left in the account, just shut it down.
