What a pathetic excuse for a bank!
Whatever the circumstances, never ever make use of Nedbank. Two years ago, we bought a house through Nedbank. The house was completely renovated, and we had insurance with an outside company. However, Nedbank spammed us with queries every couple of months to provide prove that the property was insured. This became an irritation, and we moved the insurance to Nedbank. Last year we had major storms in KZN, and many homes were damaged. We thought we were lucky until the damage became clear after six months when the facial board of the house was ********** by the wind and the roof started leaking. Mud spills from the properties behind us caused the septic tank to collapse. We live in a rural area without sewerage pipes. We put in a claim for the both the roof and the septic tank but was told that Nedbank insurance did not cover sewerage damage. They asked for quotations and pictures of the damaged roof which we supp****. Although they knew the house was registered on two individuals' names, they decided to only put one name on the insurance which made it difficult for me to communicate with them. four months later we still had no answer from them which led to more damage, include excessive moisture inside the house causing the breaking of most electronic devices in our home. None of the contractors contacted for quotes and reports on the house reported any broken roof tiles, but after complaining to Nedbank with regard to the amount of time they take to either approve or decline a claim, they eventually sent out an accessor. The accessor who in my opinion was too heavy to walk on the roof, suddenly found broken tiles and stated that the facial board was not ********** by the wind but that the *****s holding it was rusted and therefore must be the cause. Now we have even more damage to the ceiling than before the accessor came out and I assume that *****s left open for four months, the time from initializing the claim and the time it took Nedbank to send out an accessor, should not rust. However, from my own experience, any metal left uncovered close to the coast will rust, even stainless steel. So, Nedbank, I am still waiting on your decision and report from your accessor while in the meantime we have lost two laptops, potentially three, as well as other electronics, such as the TV, Amp, TV box, all the lights in our house and excessive damage to the ceilings. This is now six months later.
